Words & Co. Language Services is unique in offering a wide variety of language-related services in Cape Town. In additional to running a successful translation bureau, we also offer everything from conference interpreting to TEFL teaching, voice-overs to foreign language coaching.

TE FL: TEFL Teaching in Cape Town

This is TEFL teaching with a twist. Words & Co. is not a school but a service provider and organising body. Students coming to Cape Town and wishing to brush up on their English – whatever their level – can choose a tailor made English & tour package to suit their needs. 

Words & Co. organises accommodation for Tour students and airport transfers when student arrive in Cape Town. We specialise in homestay placements, where the student benefits from immersion into a South African English-speaking family. Breakfast and dinner are provided by the family, as well as laundry. Students become ‘one of the family' and are able to experience a new culture while improving their English and taking in the unique sights and sounds of Cape Town and South Africa.  

We also arrange alternative accommodation in hotels, guest houses or backpackers lodges, should the student prefer this.

TOURS AND SIGHTSEEING:

Cape Town offers gorgeous beaches, fascinating museums and history, and breathtaking scenery. Tour options can be chosen as part of the Tour Package, and include half-day and full-day tours to Cape Town's popular tourist attractions such as Table Mountain, the winelands, the townships and Cape Point. For students wishing to experience more of the surrounding country,

Whale-watching tours to nearby Hermanus, overnight safaris to Aquila Private Game Reserve and overland safaris to Namibia, Victoria Falls and Kenya are also on offer.

Overland tours range from between 7 and 21 days.

VOLUNTEERING AND INTERNSHIPS:

We also offer a service of arranging voluntary work for students with welfare organizations. This ranges from helping at soup kitchens, assisting in building houses in the townships, playing with children at hospitals and orphanages or helping at the SPCA. Placements are organized according to the interests of the student.  

For students wishing to use their visit to Cape Town as an opportunity to gain work experience in their field of study, internships with South African companies can be organised through our sister company Atlantic Volunteers. Volunteers are given a 3 day orientation course and are also encouraged to join a 2 week English course. This is equip the student with the necessary tools for living and working in South Africa.
